The role of Teller is to provide high-level member service while performing a variety of transactions and addressing member inquiries. Communicate effectively to discuss Credit Union products and services to members or potential members. Serve as the first point of contact for members and provide a positive impression of Riegel FCU. Experience Required

Entry-level position: prior experience in a financial service institution preferred but not required.

Prior cash handling preferred.

Required Education: High School Degree, equivalent, or current student.

Personal Banker I

Description:

The role of the Personal Banker I is to open all account types offered in the Branch Operations department while providing a high level of member service. Personal Banker I will service consumer loans request from members. Additionally, Personal Banker I will perform Teller duties and assist members with non-department products and services such as consumer loans, digital banking, and plastics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet members and welcome them to the Credit Union (in-person & phone) in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
  • Perform all responsibilities of the Teller and MSR positions with a focus on high-level member service and accuracy. See also Teller/MSR job descriptions.
  • Adhere to all security procedures as well as other departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of NCUA/banking regulations and procedures regarding member accounts.
  • Perform duties in accordance with Credit Union and banking compliance requirements.
  • Perform new member onboarding procedures as defined by management.
  • Engage members in conversation to understand what products and services will help to achieve their financial needs.
  • Take consumer loan applications, collect & prepare documentation, and close loans.
  • Assure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and security of work area, desks, equipment, etc.
  • Complete continued education through webinars, videos, and other training methods.
  • Obtain Notary License and perform Notary Public services.
  • Perform Signature Guarantee (Medallion) service.
  • Perform late notice and share draft processing.
  • Activate gift cards and travel money cards.
  • Process foreign currency order.
  • Process liens and levies on member accounts.
  • Process term share notices.
  • Process death claims.
  • Research and resolve member questions, problems, and concerns.
  • Perform vault cash handling, selling procedures for vault, order money, and selling back to the Federal Reserve/Alloya.
  • Learn how to open and close the branches as a temporary backup role to Assistant Managers.
  • Assist supervisors on additional duties of the Branch Operations department.
  • Will work on Thursdays and Fridays until closing as needed.
  • Will work a minimum of 2 Saturdays per month.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required by management.

 

Experience:

2-4 years of credit union or banking experience as a member service representative



Member Service Representative

Description:

The role of the Member Service Representative is to assist members with in-office products and services offered by the Branch Operations department. Additionally, Member Service Representatives perform all Teller duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet members and welcome them to the Credit Union (in-person & phone) in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
  • Perform all responsibilities of the Teller position with a focus on high-level member service and accuracy.
  • Adhere to all security procedures as well as other departmental policies and procedures.
  • Learn NCUA/banking regulations and procedures regarding member accounts.
  • Perform duties in accordance with Credit Union and banking compliance requirements.
  • Competently process requests to open all accounts on the Truth-in-Savings.
  • Assure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and security of work area, desks, equipment, etc.
  • Process deposited checks by scanning and reconcile morning work.
  • Perform late notice printing and processing.
  • Coin Machine - empty, balance, and prepare for pickup.
  • Process member check order through Deluxe. Process savings bond redemptions.
  • Perform vault cash handling duties which includes counting, selling back, and proving the vault.
  • Complete continued education through webinars, videos, and other training methods.
  • Assist supervisors on additional duties of the Branch Operations department.
  • Will work on Thursdays and Fridays until closing as needed.
  • Will work a minimum of 2 Saturdays per month.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.

 

Experience:

Prior cash handling and member service experience preferred.
