About Riegel Federal Credit Union

In 1960, employees of Riegel Paper pooled their resources and received a federal charter to establish their own credit union. Since that time, Riegel Federal Credit Union has grown to serve thousands of members while remaining focused on local service and strong community relationships. This group of volunteers and community members created a place where hardworking locals could save for the future and access affordable loans when needed.

Over the years, the mills were sold or closed, and the community has undergone significant changes. Through these changes, Riegel Federal Credit Union has remained a constant in the community. Today, we continue to serve the community by offering savings accounts, loan options, and convenient financial services—delivered with the friendly, personal service our members value. What truly sets us apart is our connection to the people we serve. We know many of our members by name—and often their families as well. More than sixty years later, our commitment to personal service and community values remains at the heart of everything we do.
